A low carb diet plan greatly restricts the amount of carbohydrates you consume,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as compared with a traditional North American diet, or even compared with a low fat diet. While our bodies would usually burn stored carbohydrates for energy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], low carb eating forces the body to burn more stored fat instead. When this happens, your body produces chemicals called "ketones". Ketones result when your kidneys convert fat to soluble waste. Getting your body to reach this point is one of the goals of a low carbohydrate diet.
Many people are confused about how low carb diets work,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. It doesn't make sense to them that you can eat more fat and protein than is traditionally called for and still lose weight.
There is a scientific reason behind the development of this diet. Dr. Robert Atkins first introduced the concept of eating a low carbohydrate diet in the 1970s. He noticed that primitive people consumed a diet of mostly meat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], vegetables and some fruit. Because this diet was in existence for thousands of years before the development of agriculture, Atkins concluded that the reason most people had difficulty losing weight and keeping it off is that we are eating contrary to the way our digestive system is set up. Low carb diet plans differ somewhat in the amount of carbohydrates they allow, but all advise cutting out all white or starchy foods. The most strict is the 20 gram per day carb limit of the initial stage of Atkins, plus some of the other diet plans. The 20 grams is generally derived from salads and non-starchy vegetables, plus the trace amounts of carbs in sauces, dressings and cheeses.
In the 1990s the diet seemed to be rediscovered and became known as the Atkins New Diet Revolution. Since the reemergence of the Atkins diet, other low carb diets have been developed that are variations of it. The Zone Diet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Stillman Diet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Hollywood Diet, the Ketogenic Diet and the South Beach Diet are all based on the idea of eating fewer carbohydrates. The great difficulty of any severely restricted diet is that most people can end up regaining much of their lost weight because of difficulty adhering to the restrictions over the long-term. 3. Respect is absolutely essential in communication. We need to respect both ourselves and the other. It also means that we do not shout at, criticize or demean the others with harsh words. We would not like to be talked to in this way. Children are even more sensitive and vulnerable to shouting and harsh words. Their self-image and sense of security are seriously undermined.
Respect breeds respect. When we show respect to our children during their early years they will return this behavior in the later years. If we frequently criticize, blame, demean or speak down to them, we will find that during adolescence, this lack of respect will then be returned to us.

When we continuously criticize and advise our children, they gradually stop telling us what they are doing. They stop communicating, because whatever they will say will be criticized. Or they may start criticizing us. They start rejecting whatever we say. They may do this with words or with actions which symbolize rebellion, independence and rejection of our beliefs.
2. We all want logical reasoning and explanations from the person who is communicating with us. If he or she speaks in an irrational way, or says, "look it will simply be done this way and I have no intention of explaining to you why; do it that way because I said so, because I want it that way,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], although it seems illogical", we will not feel very happy. We will feel that the other has no interest in our needs or feelings. We will feel that he or she is not respecting us. This is the way our children feel when we give orders or make statements without explaining the reasons behind them.

We are talking about accepting the being and not every action which he or she may perform. This distinction is important. One of the most difficult conversations most managers ever have is when they need to meet with an employee to discuss a performance problem. Focus on specific performance issues, not personality. You may just know that the performance issue is obvious to the employee, but that is frequently not the case. It can be very tempting to use general language like “not a team player”,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or “attitude problem”, but the other party will not understand what you mean. They will probably get defensive and then you have immediately lost any hope of having a positive outcome. So make sure you are clear and specific when describing the problem.
